Testimonial

I was involved in a rugby tackle that left me with a serious knee injury, which required extensive surgery. The surgery involved ACL & MCL reconstructions as well as meniscus repairs. I had such a long road to recovery, with Declan being a critical part in my return to sport. He has a friendly, motivating and professional manner. Declan encouraged me every step of the way and amazingly, I am back playing rugby, hunting in the hills and skiing the slopes.

What To Expect

Sports Injury Rehabilitation Pathway

Following your initial consultation, we will guide you as to what exactly is required to get you back to what you love.

We specialise in diagnosing and rehabilitating lower limb injuries.

Whether you have patello-femoral (kneecap) pain from running or you have sustained an intra-articular knee injury (e.g. ACL rupture or a meniscal tear) whilst playing sport, we have the expertise and experience to get you on the road to recovery.

All our patients following an ACL injury / surgery enter our 'Sports Injury Rehab Programme'. This programme provides you with access to everything you need to get you back to sport: Physiotherapy, Supervised Gym Sessions and Pitch-Based Rehab Runs. Our strict ACL Return to Sport Pathway following ACL injury or surgery, enables you to successfully move through each rehabilitation phase over a 9-12 month period.

With ACL re-injury rates being considerably high (usually due to inadequate rehabilitation), this proven pathway helps to reduce the likelihood of picking up injuries along the way and also when you have returned to sport. People often get to the four month mark where their knee feels good, they're pain free and they've just started back running. But they then decide to reduce how much they see the physio / strength and conditioning coach. This is the exact opposite of what should happen.

Our rehab pathway ensures that you understand exactly what is expected of you at each stage from day 0 to day 365, which helps you to stay motivated throughout the lengthy rehabilitation process. On returning to your sport, you will be in a better place physically and psychologically than you were pre-injury.

We use this rehab pathway for all lower limb injuries.
